'CRYING TREE AND SHATTERED WAVE'
ARUNDEL FESTIVAL 2004

"If the waves of the ocean shattered into hundreds of pieces of glass as they hit the shore would the people of the world stop to think more about the water of the seas of the world and why they need looking after? In the 21st century does nature have to do something never seen before for all people to notice and respect her?"

This work combining a tree crying glass tear drops and a 10 foot long glass and wire sculpture 'wave' was designed to get its audience to stop and think for just a moment iin about the aspects of nature they might otherwise take for granted around them.

Comments from the public:

"Your garden wave is breathtaking, great beauty. Thanks"
-Springbrok

"I am glad you are causing us to think and re-appraise the stewardship of the creation God has given to us. Thank you." -Anon

"Never seen such ideas before - and what patience with your work! Excellent!" - Anon

"If trees cried - as others of their number are at best ignored and at worst cut down, making way for the concrete of our world - would the people of the world show them more respect? In the 21st century does nature have to do something never seen before, for all people to notice and respect her?"

Quotes from the public:

"An extremely thought provoking, yet beautiful piece of art. I want to touch the tears and pierce the surface of the pods which lie below them. Thank you for an image I shall always remember." - Gae Giciersta

"How about some fireflies in the teardrops? (to be let out after of course) or some tiny lights on wire, solar powered. I think it would look enchanting and even now I can imagine sitting under it all evening. Bliss. Very simple, beautiful garden." - J.Cane

"Oh wow." - Anon.

"Yes I quite agree. Wow! Really lovely!" - Anon.

"Ditto!" - Anon.
